With the lack of wind and no one to train with I went up skiing for the weekend.

Miami OCR

The regatta is over and I am packing up to head home. Over all it was a good event as the conditions were great. We had wind almost every day. The race committee did a terrific job getting off all the races that were scheduled. You can find results here

MIami

Well I made it to Miami, it is nice to see temperatures in the double digits- 25 C. Got in two days ago and today was my first day sailing. The weather was great and there was a bit of wind maybe in the 10-15kt range as well as  a lot of great people to sail against. Over all it is pretty pleasant here.

So I am back from Christmas vacation, have been sailing 2 days this week. The weather here has been nothing special not a lot of wind and still cold, although it has been really sunny. I have loaded my boat and it is ready to head to Miami. I have got a week of training and then the Miami OCR, updates on the regatta can be found on the regatta website. I will have some updates on my site too.

Sailing on Saturday was great. The weather could not have been better. The sun was out and there was a bit of wind. We did some match racing in morning then spent the afternoon working on upwind speed. Sunday was not as good as there was no wind all day so I spent the day fixing up my boat.

Had a great day sailing today. There was not much wind, it was raining and cold but I worked a lot on tacks and jibs. Trying to keep warm. Going sailing for the next 3 days and really hoping for wind.

This is the first blog entry on my new site. I will try to update during every event I go to as well as one here and there to talk about training.

As for the last week there has not been that much sailing going on. Vancouver got hit with a big dump of snow and the temp went to -10°c for the week. There was a lot of snow on the mountains so went up to Whistler for the weekend. you can see how great it was here

As for the coming week I am planning to sail tomorrow and then I bring my boat home to fix before the trip to Miami. It should be back in the water by Thursday or Friday ready for weekend training.
